KorumLegal 5+5 Startup Package – All you need to know! 

What will it cost? 

  1. 5+5 Package Fee: HK$10,000 up front, excluding credit card or other bank transfer fees  
  2. Optional Extended Period of Use Fee: You have two weeks to use your five hours of consulting services once you have started the engagement by working with your consultant.  If you want to use your five hours of consulting over three weeks instead, it will cost an additional HK$1,000. (See (3) in the “What do I get” section for more details.) 

What do I get? 

  1. 5 template documents for you to tailor to your business needs, chosen from 7 out of: 
    1. Employment agreement
    2. Consultancy Agreement
    3. Service Agreement
    4. Intellectual Property Assignment Deed
    5. Non-Disclosure Agreement
    6. Website Terms of Use 
    7. Website Privacy Policy 
  2. 5 hours (total) of a KorumLegal Consultant’s time, to be used within 10 business days from the first day of contact with the KorumLegal Consultant (Period of Use).  
  3. You can also use some of your consultant time to discuss which 5 templates make the most sense for your business.  We are here to help!
  4. The Period of Use can be extended for a further 5 business days, on written agreement with the Consultant and KorumLegal for an additional fee of HK$1000 (even if the 5 hours have not been used during the Period of Use) (Extended Period of Use).  
  5. Free access to our smart contract technology platform, so you can streamline your legal processes from day one of your legal journey.
How will payment work?
  1. KorumLegal will, within one day of receipt of your Client Onboarding Form, prepare and send you an invoice for the 5+5 Package Fee.  For ease, you have the option to make payment via credit card, however you will be charged a 3% credit card processing fee in your invoice. 
  2. We can only get you started once we receive your payment in our bank account, so please make the payment quickly. 
  3. Send an email confirmation to satinder.sohal@korumlegal.com once your payment is made. 
  4. You’re ready to get started!

How will I work with my KorumLegal Consultant?

  1. We will introduce you to your KorumLegal Consultant, normally within 1 business day, after you have paid. 
  2. We will set you up on the contract automation platform.  All you need is an email address and it only takes a moment.  Your consultant will tell you more about how it works.
  3. You should organise an initial call or meeting to introduce your business. You can also get help choosing your 5 templates or you can let your consultant know if you have already chosen.
  4. Our Consultant will also discuss with you about the best way to utilise your 5 hours of bespoke consultation, within the Period of Use, based on your needs!

In case you were wondering, you cannot: 

  1. Change, modify or adapt any part of the 5+5 Package, this means: 
    1. the Fees are set
    2. the template agreements available are only those listed;  
    3. you can only choose 5 agreements; 
    4. use the 5 hours past the Period of Use or Extended Period of Use (as applicable) If you don’t use it, you’ll lose it!
  2. Sell your 5+5 Package to any other third party. 
  3. Directly hire/pay/engage the KorumLegal consultant. Additional work must be arranged through KorumLegal.

After you finish your 5+5 Package - Special Offer: 

  1. At the end of your package, you can opt to continue working with KorumLegal to support your legal needs after your 5+5 package ends.
  2. As part of our commitment to you and to provide continued support, you are eligible for a 10% discount off our normal start-up rates, valid for a period of 3 months (90 days) after the end of your 5+5 Package (People Special Offer).

Protecting you and protecting us! A.K.A the important legal bits: 

Non-disclosure and publicity:
We will hold your confidential information in strict confidence, with the same care we use for our own confidential information, which in no event shall be less than a reasonable standard of care.  

 We will not be responsible for information: (a) previously known to us free of any obligation to keep it confidential; (b) already available to the public; (c) rightly received by us from a third party who is under no confidentiality obligation to us or you; or (d) which is independently developed by us without resort to your confidential information. We will disclose all sought information if required by law. 

 We shall have the right, at our own expense, to disclose our provision of services to you and describe our services including without limitation, the use of your company logo or company name, in any of our publicity and marketing materials or press publicity.  

Disclaimer and release:
KorumLegal is a legal consulting firm, not a law firm or engaged in the practice of law.  KorumLegal will not supervise or be responsible for the services provided by any KorumLegal Consultants.  KorumLegal as a corporate entity does not provide legal advice or representation.  KorumLegal Consultants, for the purposes of their substantive work only, will provide legal consulting services and shall be under the supervision of the Client.   

KorumLegal and its employees, consultants' shareholders, directors, officers and personnel shall not be liable for consequential, special, indirect, incidental, punitive or exemplary loss, damage cost or expense (including, without limitation, lost profits or opportunity costs).   

Our maximum total liability for KorumLegal and its employees, shareholders, directors, officers and personnel for any actions, losses, damages, claims, liabilities, costs or expenses in any way arising out of or relating to this Engagement, shall not exceed the fees paid by you to KorumLegal hereunder for KorumLegal’s services. 

If we or our Consultants are joined in, made party to, or subpoenaed in connection with, any actual or threatened civil or other proceedings arising out of or in connection with this Engagement, you agree to indemnify and hold us and our Consultants harmless against all costs, expenses (including legal expenses), damages, awards that we may incur by reason of such involvement, and you will pay our Consultants at their then-current-hourly rate for time and attendances in connection with this matter.  

Data Protection:
We will comply with the provisions and obligations of applicable data privacy legislation. In circumstances where personal data (as defined in applicable legislation) is passed to us, we will be acting as the data processor. As data controller, you acknowledge that you have obtained all necessary consents for lawful processing, prior to passing the personal data to us.  

Disputes: 
We will aim to resolve any disputes in good faith. However, in the event that a dispute cannot be resolved, the dispute shall be submitted to non binding mediation before either party pursues any other remedies
